I’ve said it before and I’ll keep saying it.
One of the best parts of What We Do in the Shadows (the movie and the tv show) is that it’s not mocking the genre (it’s having fun, it’s not mocking - it’s parody done right). It’s not condescending to the fans, like “pfft, you guys are so stupid for liking vampires!”
It’s a vampire show made for people who love the vampire genre, made by people who love the vampire genre.
… wait, so does that mean What We Do In The Shadows is to the vampire genre what Galaxy Quest is to Star Trek?
