Oh man I hope these services die an awful nasy death
I really wouldn’t be surprised if all of these job interview AIs just…happen to rank various minorities lower than their cishet, white, male counterparts. For reasons completely unrelated to the personal biases of the interviewers or the well known, systemic biases in AI researchers and datasets.
because obviously the minorities are subpar /s
While I’m sure they do, I don’t think attributing it to personal biases of human developers really gets to the root of the problem. You could hand-select only the most progressive, diverse, insightful AI researchers and they would still develop a uselessly biased product because the very fabric of this kind of AI is comprised entirely of arbitrary bias. We can’t teach it to think, only to discriminate.
