single people have wealth comparable to world superpowers less than 60 years ago. if that doesn't make you want to build a guillotine, I don't know what will.
The space race was an amazing work of public interest, investment and every dollar put into NASA was effectively doubled, and much of their space tech we take for granted daily. Now that those industries are privatizing the only people benefitting are those who have enough money to do so, despite the fact they would likely never have qualified as astronauts in the first place.
